Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT AGES IS THIS EVENT FOR?

This event is for all ages! Many daughters have been attending with their father for decades. Some families have multiple generations of father-daughter pairs attend. This is not a dance just for little girls and their dads, it’s for the Father-Daughter relationship all life long!

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM RECOMMENDED AGE FOR THIS EVENT?

We request no daughters younger than 6. School-aged children is a good guide. There is a speaker during dinner which will require the daughter to be able to sit still and quiet for around 45 minutes. You’re the best judge of your daughter’s ability…some may handle that quite well at age 6, while others might be more comfortable at age 8 or 9.

CAN I REQUEST TO SIT WITH OUR FRIENDS?

Yes! When registering, please put the full names of the people you would like to sit with in the “Requests” message box. We cannot guarantee seating requests, but we will do everything we can to accommodate them.

WHERE IS THE DANCE AND WHERE CAN I PARK?

The dance is in the Broadmoor Hall in the International Center, across the roundabout from the main entrance of the hotel. Follow the signage for A Daughter’s Journey, and it will lead you to the northwest-most room of the International Center, just northwest of Summit Bistro. Please park in the parking garage underneath the International Center, located at 15 Lake Circle Drive. Please take advantage of this option, as the garage has an elevator that leads directly to the event space. No more walking on snow or ice in high heels!

HOW DO I GET THE SPECIAL RATE FOR ROOMS AT THE BROADMOOR?

The Broadmoor is discounting their rooms for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the weekend of the dance. When making your reservation, either online or by calling 855-634-7711, to secure rooms for $210 a night. What a treat!

WHAT ABOUT SEVERE ALLERGIES?

The Broadmoor is working hard to accommodate all allergen requests. When choosing your (or your daughter’s) meal, select “Allergen Accommodation” and list all allergies in the given message box. We will give this information to The Broadmoor, and it will be on the place card at your seat. You should be served a meal that conforms to the dietary restrictions you listed. Please double check your plate with your waiter if you are concerned.

WILL I BE SENT A PAPER INVITATION TO THE EVENT?

Yes! One invitation for each Daughter should come in the mail after Registration. We will wait to send out invitations to early registrants until December, so the invites don’t get lost and can be put under the tree for Christmas if you so choose.

WHAT IS THE LAST DAY TO BUY TICKETS? WHEN IS THE LAST DAY TO REQUEST REFUNDED TICKETS?

The last day of ticket sales is December 27th, so get your tickets now! In the sad event that you cannot attend, but have already purchased tickets, refunds are available until December 12th. Contact us at daughtersjourneycs@gmail.com or through our Contact Us form (just below) with any further questions.

DO YOU HAVE OPPORTUNITIES IF TICKETS ARE TOO EXPENSIVE?

Yes! If you need some help affording tickets this year, please fill out our Contact Us form (just below) and select “Scholarship Tickets.” We have a small amount of donated tickets, and we hope to provide as many families that need it one donated ticket per father-daughter couple. We are campaigning hard with our sponsors to bring ticket prices down, but this being our first year, things are slow-going. If this year just isn’t going to work for you, please check back next year, as we hope to have reduced ticket prices through increased community support.
